The History of Crazylanka
This is the History of Crazylanka Dot Com, the first Sri Lankan satirical website and one of the funniest Sri Lankan sites on the web!
Crazylanka.com was first launched on the 1st of August 2002.
Before that, it existed as Gyan's Madpage.
In recent times, Crazylanka has been dormant but we thought that some of the hilarious material was worth another look!
When we first started web publishing was tedious business and a knowledge of HTML was mandatory. We used Hot Metal Pro as our html editor and Cute FTP to upload. Uploads took ages and often failed! The design was crude and haphazard lacking the polish of other sites but we did, and still do have, a loyal crazy following.
One thing we had were a lot of crazy guys and even gals, contributing a lot of material, some of it unpublishable!
We styled ourselves as "The No 2 Crazy Site in the World" and had great fun writing and publishing.
